The New Fujifilm GFX 100SII
In this vlog, I'm excited to introduce the newest camera in the Fujfilm lineup, the GFX 100SII, which joins the GFX world.
Rather than delving into a slew of technical specifications you can find elsewhere, I'd rather have an honest conversation about my experience with this new camera, particularly in the realm of landscape photography (and a few other genres).
I'm genuinely thrilled to showcase its capabilities alongside my beloved 50SII and share how it stacks up in real-world use.

Beautiful sunrise at Cardiac hill in Norfolk

Next up in my photography adventures we are exploring one of the quieter areas of the Norfolk coast called Cardiac Hill, it takes its name from the path that zigzags down the cliff face from the main road in Mundesley, this was my final shoot of 2023 and it was an amazing one for sure. Blackchurch Rock is located on the north Devon coast and is one rather spectacular rock formation to photograph at sunset. Glorious shots 👍 A Wi-Fi remote is good, the receiver sits on the camera hot shoe, the gun can stay in your pocket, this is an improvement on “wired” where remote was in my pocket and I destroyed my lens by forgetting and moving away from the camera in the middle of Norwich😱🫣, I only use it for fireworks / light painting now 2 second delay is king 🤣🤣

    Yeah, I have the GFX 50 S2. I'm probably a little bit like you. I do she professionally in a few different areas. I also have a Fuji XT5 which I do most of my wedding and portrait stuff with because the 50 just isn't reliable enough and I've been looking at the new camera and definitely want to get my hands on, I've got a Nikon D850 .... With a few lenses, which I'm going to sell. Once you've used a GFX, it's very hard to go back. The image quality even out of the 50 was just absolutely phenomenal. My jaw hit the floor when I started to see the images. I think this camera will be for me. It probably will be my last camera that I ever buy. I'm 54 but I cannot imagine ever needing more than 100 megapixels. The GFX line of cameras is just phenomenal but it is interesting. I have still kept my FujiFilm XT5 because I love a small camera sometimes just to go out and take photos.

    Thank you for your video. I am looking at the GFX 100s11 for landscape. I have just one question for you: Do you have to focus stack for the landscape to get everything in focus?

    • @DibsPhotography
      @DibsPhotography 2 місяці тому

      No, not really. Sometimes you do if you have something really close in the foreground, but will probably say it's about 1:10 shots I focus stack

    Hi Dibs, that GFX system looks amazing. I currently use the X-Series and love the Fuji system. I've recently switched to the XH bodies (I have both the XH2 and XH2s) and love them. I've considered moving to the GFX system but unfortunately the cost and lack of a high fps for Nature has put me off. I can understand anyone not requiring the fast fps using it because the quality of the files is stunning. I hope to return to the North Norfolk coast next year

      Great to hear your journey with Fujifilm, the cameras you have are stunning to use too, I remember having go on the XH1 when it was getting released and was very impressed at its performance. Hopefully bump into you on the Norfolk coast one day if you make it back here.

      I have it. Been shooting portraits / landscape and street for a year now. Blown away by color, IQ, and overall look of the image. I only have one lens for now but I love it: GF50mm 3.5 it’s got nice depth of field and tack sharp wide open. The other aspect I love about it is its size!!! Combined with the GFX its not bigger than a full frame

    Thanks, great video! One thing though, I think you are resampling too much. Your are resampling the the photo to A4 and then add a canvas and resample again to add the border. And finally, because you are not printing borderless, the printer driver will also have to resize again to add the border.

I was able to easily connect my MacBook by going through the online instructions and watching the videos - which are very helpful. As an air cadet in the late 60's I was lucky enough to have a flight in a Chipmunk aircraft. Flying over the north sea, I asked the pilot to put the aircraft into a dive, to experience G force. He was rather surprised, at my request but went ahead. My father was in the Lancasters; I had listened to his stories. Despite feeling nauseous it was an incredible and unforgettable experience.

There is a Cafe at the end of 1 hangar, and a nice little museum in the old guardroom and police flight ( open Thursdays and Sundays during the summer). many happy memories of the place, sad to see some of it rundown, but industry is slowly moving into various buildings.
